I survived the first week of work!

  • Easy job, easy $!
  • Not a need for formal wear.
  • Awesome environment. Unlike cliche office jobs, you have your supervisor/superior sitting near you but for mine, all the temp stuff are located in one comfy place with nobody around spying on us.
  • Colleagues that I'm working with are all young people and we somehow click pretty well already.
  • I have time to watch shows and Youtube videos and even sleep. Yes, you heard me right.
  • Less than 10 seconds walking distance to the canteen and it's damn convenient when I'm hungry.
  • Having to face pervert smiles and stares from foreign workers (not all but let's say about half of them)
  • Some that don't understand what I'm talking about and I don't understand what they are talking about. So, I use body language and actions to communicate which can be freaking annoying with the capital A
  • Rude bosses that shout and scold their workers which somehow tbh, i really pity them (the workers)
  • Getting paper cuts and green chops on the hand at the end of the day
  • 2 weeks later, I foresee having a lil more/hectic work since 2 of the old-timers are going to leave and all that's left are 3 new staffs! ): I hope they hire more people
I'm pretty sure I can conquer the 3 months contract (might be extending my stay there I'm not sure though). Despite all those lowlights, at least I don't find myself dragging my feet to work everyday. All's well for now and till my last day there, I hope.

Photobooth Me!

Work it girl!

Remember the previous 2 posts where I said that I sack the job and it's time for my holidays? Well, I can give my holidays up because I'm starting work tomorrow! (No, not the previous job. It's another new job) Well, pretty surprise that they get back to me quite fast. How fast you may ask? I send my resume to them and the very next day (or was it 2 days after) they called and tell me about the job scope and location and voila ... I've a job waiting for me tomorrow. I hope they didn't bluff me when they said that the job is pretty slack :/ Pretty stoked yet nervous for it. *cross fingers and toes* hoping that everyone and everything will treat me well.

I have attended DMIT Graduation Night 2011

Event was held @ Orchard hotel. Almost lost getting our way there.
And weirdly, the hotel is located in the shopping arcade. Errr, correct me if I'm wrong :/
The goodies that were brought back that night: NYP folder, organizer (Major not needed this two!), Teenage magazine, frolick and swensons' vouchers and the awesome 'I have attended NYP Grad Nite 2011' badge. If you want to purchase any badges, go to: I promise you their service is damn good and efficient. Me and Sera got another more extra set of kick ass goodies *winkwink*
Check out the hardworking 'admins' on duties. Mr. Lee so need to treat us to a good meal one fine day!
Table 11 girlies. Missing: Elaine and Shili. Oh I like how everyone of us wore black ♥
Oh not forgetting the only male in Table 11 together with the event organizer; Mr. Lee
Mr Lee asked me "So Maya, how do you overcome stress?" Of all question, seriously?!!!!! First thing that came into my mind when he asked me that was "Whaaaaat?! Am I doing another round of Comm Skills interview presentation?"
And I blabbered rubbish which you wouldn't want to know ;x
Yes, still blabbering. But I ended with: I am glad I met my friends in NYP. Really, I am glad! Despite those sucky modules which I always complain about but I think I made a right choice in appealing to these course and school.
I was also the usher-er, the give-the-prize-to-the-director-or-whoever-and-they-will pass-it-to-the-winner girl. It was really a great experience I must say even though I kinda screwed things up at some parts like ushering the director down but he doesn't want to go down. (Ahhhh, screw this!)

And being that girl, it was pretty lucky! Because I will be the first to see who the lucky winners are for the lucky draw prizes. Throughout the 10th prize to 1st prize, I was pleading with Mr Henry to pick my name but well, no luck ): But I know in the picture above I look like I won the 1st prize but sadly no. I thought it was someone whom I knew won but my eyesight tricked me. It was somebody else instead hahaha.
Also being the best part about the girl is able to peep inside the container and shaking it. So as I was shaking and shaking and saying my prayers that maybe if not me, some of my friends could win!
And my prayers was answered indeed. As soon as I saw her name, I winked at her from the side of the stage. Hahaha, gratz for winning the 9th prize. After she won, Liping won the next prize too.
Glad to kick-start with the year of my polytechnic days with awesome classmates like them!
I ♥ DMIT 0815: Shiokers
Sorry (NOT!) if you think there's too many of my face in there. Not that I want it to be there also but oh well ~ Haters gonna hate, mwwwah!

First of all, I wanted to thank Hanwei Lee for putting in a lot of efforts in making this event a success one. Not only him but all the others who have lend a helping hand in one way or another. Yay to us! I'm pretty glad I attended this event. 50$ was worth it, for the memories. Oh to be honest, the food kinda suck ): but anyway, yeah I am glad for the first time I get to experience the feel of attending 'prom night' because I didn't get to experience it in high school. All in all, DMIT Grad Nite was kick-ass awesome. (: If you think this isn't kickass awesome, well let me tell you this: NYP DMIT Grad Nite will get to appear on Teenage magazine comes the month of May. Does your grad/prom night gets to appear in any magazines? Beat that awesomeness!

Tumblr knows best

"Whenever I see a pretty girl, I feel so intimidated. It's like whenever I think I look decent or okay, I come across a pretty girl in a picture or a pretty friend and I just immediately fall into the assumption that I would never measure up to that kind of "pretty." It's like I can never be enough because there will always be someone prettier and better."

Anyway, on a brighter note, happy 4 years and one month babyboo.

Kind of excited to update about graduation night but I have yet to see all the photos.
I shall update on them soon when I've seen all photos taken by the pro and when I'm not errr... lazy! (:

Funny job application

Below is an actual job application that a 75 year old senior citizen submitted to Walmart in California . They hired him because he was funny.....
NAME: Kenneth Way (Grumpy Old Bastard)
SEX: Not lately, but I am looking for the right woman (or at least one who will cooperate)
DESIRED POSITION: Company President or Vice President. But seriously, whatever's available. If I was in a position to be picky, I wouldn't be applying here in the first place
DESIRED SALARY: $185,000 a year plus stock options and a Michael Ovitz style severance package. If that's not possible, make an offer and we can haggle.
LAST POSITION HELD: Target for middle management hostility.
PREVIOUS SALARY: A lot less than I'm worth.
MOST NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENT: My incredible collection of stolen pens and post-it notes.
PREFERRED HOURS: 1:30-3:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL SKILLS?: Yes, but they're better suited to a more intimate environment
MAY WE CONTACT YOUR CURRENT EMPLOYER?: If I had one, would I be here?
DO YOU HAVE A CAR?: I think the more appropriate question here would be 'Do you have a car that runs?'
HAVE YOU RECEIVED ANY SPECIAL AWARDS OR RECOGNITION?: I may already be a winner of the European Lottery Clearing House Sweepstakes, so they tell me.
DO YOU SMOKE?: On the job - no! On my breaks - yes!
Living in the Bahamas with a fabulously wealthy dumb sexy blonde supermodel who thinks I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread. Actually, I'd like to be doing that now.
Maybe, I should try this out. Oh anyway, I actually have a part-time job on hand but I sack them yesterday when I was on training. I think I was born not to work but to enjoy life. So, work can kiss my ass (for now!) Fuck yeah, it's the holiday bitches!

How old are we again?

Two days ago, I went job interview with Zamira and I filled in '19' as my age.
Zamira: Ape kau tulis untuk age? (What do you write for your age?)
Maya: 19.
Zamira: Birthday kau belum lepas kan? So, tulis 18 uh (Your birthday haven't over yet right? So write 18)
Maya: *Changes to 18*

Yesterday, I went job hunting with Nabilah and again, we need to fill in the application form
Nabilah: Eh, age letak ape? (Eh, put what for age?)
Maya: 19.
Nabilah: Put 20 luh since we are turning one soon
Maya: *laughoutloud recalling yesterday's incident*

And yes, Zamira Ashikin just psycho-ed me and made me think that I'm turning only 19 this year.
// Back on Twitter:
Maya: Hey did we just put 18 as our age the other time?
Zamira: Yes yes, why?
Maya: My dear, we are turning 20 this year so by right we should put 19.
Zamira: Ehk? We damn old uh?

*Bimbos alert!*

Sidetrack: Filling in job application forms are so troublesome!

What do you want in Life?

Me: How uh if cant find job?! I think I open provision shop under my hse sua.
Sera: I be yr employee.
Me: Our shop sell maggie mee only coz not enough funds
Sera: I think we should sell newspaper. More profitable
Me: LOL. Then everyday we must wake up early deliver newsppr to ppl hse?

As I'm sitting here thinking about how many resume I've send and how many actually get back to me sends shiver down my spine :/ What happen if I really can't find a job say after six months later?! Y'knw it's pretty cool to actually sit at home and shake leg but for how long can this continue? And no, I'm not pursuing my studies for now.

Like I say: Choosing the right course and university to study in is like choosing a man/woman to get married.

So, here's my plan: I would give myself around one - two year to work my ass out and job hopping till I found the scope I really am interested in then I shall pursue the studies on it. I wouldn't want to take the course on impulse now and halfway through regretting it/found out that I'm actually not that interested in the field. Simply a waste of time, yes? If by end of next month nobody want to hire me, I think I will seriously consider selling newspaper. I will drag Missy S along!

Oh another thing I've always tell Missy S: What for we all study till having a degree when at the end of the day, we sure need to stay at home and take care of our kids once we are married?! And then she always give me her oh-yeah-that's-right look.

Actually I'm still on my way figuring what I really want to do in life :/

What are words if you really don't mean them when you say them?
